Also called “fool’s gold,” the name pyrite is derived from the Greek word meaning "of fire," and it is a name applied to stones that sparked when struck against steel. These particular pieces of pyrite have polished to a metallic sheen and are set in brass bezels suspended from 2g brass coils.

Each stone measures 1 ⅛” by 1 ⅝” while the whole piece is 4” total long and weighs approximately 40 grams.
